The short version
TechnicianVision is a working tool for collision-repair technicians. We collect the data needed to make it work — your account info, the jobs and photos you upload, and the technical context Gemini needs to generate supplements. We also use your repair data to improve our own models and to build de-identified, aggregated datasets (see the Terms of Service §6 for full details). We never sell your identifiable data. We never show you ads inside the app.
What we collect
- Account info. Email, name, Google sub (if you sign in with Google), and profile fields you choose to fill in (shop, archetype, hourly wage, phone, Discord handle).
- Work product. Jobs, supplement items, walk-around videos, evidence photos, dent assessments, procedure documents, and the AI analyses generated from them.
- Operational telemetry. Anonymized error reports (Sentry), product usage events (PostHog), and session cookies for keeping you signed in (Better Auth).
How we use it
- To run the app: store your jobs, generate supplement reports, email PDFs you ask us to send.
- To improve TV's own models, prompts, classifiers, and features using the repair and estimate data you upload (see §6 of the Terms of Service).
- To build de-identified, aggregated datasets — statistics and benchmarks that combine data from many users but cannot be tied back to any individual (see §6.1c and §7.2 of the Terms).
- To send you product email (verification, password reset, and any report you choose to email an estimator).
We do not sell or license your raw, identifiable repair data to third parties, and we do not provide it to third parties to train their AI models. Full details on what we will and will not do with your data are in §6.3 of the Terms of Service.
Google user data (OAuth scope)
When you sign in with Google, we request only the standard openid, email, and profile scopes — enough to create your account and show your name/avatar in the app. We don't request Drive, Calendar, Gmail, or any other Google service. Your Google data is used exclusively to authenticate you and is not shared with third parties beyond the infrastructure listed below.
Third parties that process your data
- Cloudflare — hosts the app and database (D1) + file storage (R2). Data stays in Cloudflare's global edge.
- Better Auth (self-hosted in our Cloudflare Worker) — issues + verifies the session cookie. No third party sees your password.
- Google — only when you sign in with Google. See the scope note above.
- Google Gemini — the AI model that analyzes the photos and notes you submit for supplements / dent vision / procedures. Submissions are scoped per-job and not used to train Gemini's base model (per Google's enterprise API terms).
- Resend — delivers the supplement-report email you send to an estimator. We pass through only the recipients you explicitly list + the PDF attachment.
- Sentry — anonymized error tracking. We deliberately block damage photos + walk-around videos from being included in error payloads.
- PostHog — product usage analytics. No PII other than user id; no body content captured.
- Meta (Facebook) — the advertising pixel, on our public marketing pages only. It sees that a browser opened one of those pages, and that a newsletter or Challenge signup happened. Never loaded once you are signed in, and never given anything from inside the app.
- Google Analytics — traffic measurement, on the same public marketing pages and under the same limits as the Meta pixel.
Retention
We keep your account and work product for as long as your account is active. Delete the account (from the Profile screen, or by emailing support) and we delete your raw, identifiable jobs, supplements, dent assessments, uploaded files, and analyses within 30 days. De-identified, aggregated datasets created before deletion cannot be unwound and are retained (see §6.4 of the Terms of Service). Telemetry events are aggregated and don't link back to individual users after 90 days.
Your rights
- Access — see everything we hold on you (email support).
- Correction — edit your profile fields anytime; for everything else, email support.
- Deletion — delete your account from the Profile screen, or email support.
- Export — request a JSON export of your jobs + analyses via email support.
Cookies
We use a single HTTP-only session cookie issued by Better Auth to keep you signed in. PostHog analytics use first-party storage.
Our public marketing pages — the homepage, Features, How it works, the 30-Day Challenge and the Newsletter signup — also load the Meta (Facebook) and Google Analytics advertising pixels, which set their own third-party cookies. We use them to measure which ads bring technicians here and to reach people who have already visited. They tell us a visit or a signup happened; they are never given your repair orders, photos, hours, or anything else from inside the app.
There is exactly one moment those pixels run anywhere else: the first page you land on after your account is created, where they send a single event saying an account was made and how — with Google, with Apple, or with an email address. No page address and nothing else goes with it, and they do not send the page view they would normally send.
After that one event they do not run again. Every page behind the login — your jobs, the composer, the board, your profile — loads no advertising script at all. To block them on the marketing pages too, use your browser's tracking protection or an ad blocker; nothing about the site depends on them.
